Ironwood State Prison is an institution located in Blythe, California. It has been open since February 1994 and houses minimum and medium security inmates along with facilities for those with "sensitive needs"

The warden of Ironwood State Prison is Neil McDowell. He has held this position, or that of acting warden since 2014.

Ironwood State Prison has the largest prison education program in California. Inmates are involved in many activities, including transcribing college textbooks into Braille and learning trade skills. More than twelve thousand students have earned college degrees while in the prison.
